TADA!! Well . . . finally here we are…!  I know you’re thinking its about time (and it is!) but we had technical difficulties launching my new website; www.thebeautyagency.com.    We are up live and you can still go to www.maureengreenstein.ca.  Either one of these addresses will take you to my website where the blog and the archives will be stored.  So check out the summer blog (which you never received!) in the archives for hot tips and tricks that you can definitely use when you are off on your winter vaca.

First off, I must tell you about my FALL MAKE-UP Blow-out Sale:  (MAC, ESTEE LAUDER, DIOR….etc.).    It will be Tuesday October 4th and Wednesday 5th from 5:30-8 pm in my new makeup studio here in my apartment #2530 at 400 Walmer Road, East Tower.

Secondly, and here’s the most exciting NEWS!  I have just opened my very own BEAUTY AGENCY.  I have nine makeup artists working with me and we are the ONLY Agency with everyone an air-brush expert.  Each one of these very talented artists has at least TEN years of experience in the makeup industry and all have been trained by me to encompass the makeup styles my clients have come to know and love.  We are called THE BEAUTY AGENCY.

Here are the major trends for Fall 2011, I know you want to start buying, but remember…I know what’s in your makeup bags and under your sinks. ….So lets start by purging those old mascaras, lipsticks we would never wear and foundations that give new meaning to the word “cakey”.

This is PART ONE/STARTER LIST…PART TWO to follow.~!

1. Step aside GLOSS . . . LIPSTICK makes a comeback this Fall.

For you DIE-HARD gloss wearers – and you know who you are – try SMASHBOX Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss spf 15.  Loaded with pigment, it will still give you the importance and wearability of a lipstick, but will look like a gloss.

2. Blue and Navy – key words for your fall season.   WOW is this ever making a comeback.  Every major line is featuring something NEW and BLUE.  Try GUERLAIN Ecris 4 Couleurs Eye Shadow in Les Bleus.  Or L’OREAL Paris Wear Infinite Eyeshadow in Midnight Sky.;  BOURJOIS PARIS Little Round Pot Eye Shadow in “07” or NARS Eyeshadow in “Outremer”.

3. Red Lipstick (and this should have been number one).   I know this will require a transition and an adjustment but you can start by playing with sheer lipglosses like NARS Larger Than Life Lipgloss in “Norma”, MAC Lustre Glass in “Venetian”.  REVLON Colorburst Lip Gloss in “Fire”,  GIORGIO ARMANI in “#400”. A perfect red stain is TARTE Lipsurgence Natural Lip Tint in (of course) “LUST”. For darker-toned skin try LAURA MERCIER Lip Stain in Mulberry.

Red may seem daunting but remember you can play with intensity by blotting into a tissue and putting on a sheer lip balm.   Here is a list of my favorite reds if you have the courage to take a Beauty Leap.!!!!!; ESTEE LAUDER Sensuous Rouge Lip Color in “Cheating Heart “.  Exceptional Lipstick in Wild Winterberry by ELIZABETH ARDEN.  REVLON Matte Lipstick in “Really Red.”  NARS Pure Matte lipstick in“Vesuvio”.  CHANEL Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colour in Cambon.  One red lip pencil takes care of all these looks MAC “REDD.”  I have that in my kit it’s the only one I use.

BIG MAKEUP LIPSTICK SECRET – HOW to STOP the BLEEDING…

My NEW FAVE…LISE WATIER Virtual Lip Contour, available at Shopper’s Drug Mart and The Bay.   This invisible lip liner is the most fabulous product  — it really works – put it on before your lipstick and you can still use a lip liner on top if you so desire.

4. Eyeliner – Navy is the new black, and so is Grey.  These are my absolute non-smudgy faves….Sherry and I have tested these over and over.  MAKEUP FOREVER Aqua Eyes Eyeliner in 0L (Black) and 1L (Grey).  These do not smudge and stay all day, and I don’t care what you’re doing (dating tested by Maureen and Sherry).   A great Navy that will smudge is LAURA MERCIER Caviar Stick in Sapphire, a very smudgey thick eyeliner that can be used in place of a dark eyeshadow or stand alone.  A great drugstore brand COVERGIRL Liquiline Blast in”Blue Boom”

THAT WAS JUST THE START…LOOK FORWARD TO HOW TO WEAR THE NEW METALLICS for Holiday, BRONZERS for Winter, THE BEST OF THE BEST OF THE BEST MASCARAS AND OF COURSE SOME DELICIOUS, HYDRATING MOISTURIZERS FOR THE UPCOMING  “OH MY GOD ITS WINTER! AGAIN!  #$$@#%*&”.

Let’s talk about … Summer  finally!!!!and what you need to know….NOW.!

I want to talk about leg bronzers and body bronzers…eliminate the need to try to baby oil yourself in the sun…put away those reflectors.  AM I dating myself???  We absolutely adore the new RODIAL Brazilian Tan Line for that South-Beach ready tan.  These paraben-free sprays are streak-free and finally available in Canada – YAY!! at Murale, Don Mills Centre & @ THE BAY!!! Along these tan lines…I want to recommend M.A.C. Skinsheen Leg Spray in Medium Dark or Dark.   This is a great product if you need an instant tan fast (who on earth is wearing panty hose in the summer and if you are?  STOP IT!!!!).  It’s a messy application with lots of rubbing but well worth it.  I also like Terracotta Jambes de Gazelle by Guerlain, this excellent tanner does not transfer onto clothing and dries fast….love these…Personally, I have been using the fabulous AVENE Moisturizing self-tanning lotion , Shoppers…to maintain my Israeli tan..and it’s totally Paraben free+ great for sensitive skin!!

If any of you are looking for a new bronzer..one with shimmer and one without…these are the best;

Bronze with a hint of shimmer: Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Sea-Star Bronzing Blush.   For a matte finish try Makeup For Ever Mat Bronze, Sephora in shade #30.

I have discovered a great secret in Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall…LIPSTICKS…from L’Oreal and Maybelline that I LOVE.!  BEST NUDE EVER – (ok I‘ll have another one in the fall) but for now my fave nude is L’Oreal #235 Color Riche.   Also from Maybelline #710 Rose Glimmer and #720 Pearly Pink are fantastic for that light 60’s summery sheen.

Are you looking for a light tinted moisturizer…try M.A.C. Studio Moisture Tint available in 7 shades.  Amazing as well is Origins VitaZing Spf 15 (oil-free tinted formula) have tried it and love it – available at the Bay.

For those of you gals that just want to stain your lips and put a lip balm on top …because you’re going to the cottage and cannot be bothered with any maintenance at all..remember to wear your sunscreen and try Tarte LipSurgence Lip Stain, Sephora, …. filled with vitamins and collagen boosting peptides.  Throw a lip balm on top and you’re good to go…nowhere or anywhere.

If you need to get rid of your flaked and chapped lips – try restoring them with Dr. Hauschka Lip Care Stick…its fabulous and it works, Shoppers Drug Mart. Also wonderful..is the VICHY lip care stick, Paraben free and available @ Shoppers.

FAVORITE TIP –  Once a week, when you’re at home alone …. On the patio sipping a martini ….dip your clean, unpolished fingertips into a lemon wedge…its antibacterial and it will whiten your nails.
